1. About these terms

When you browse our website, ask for a quote, or hire us to work on your book, you accept these terms. If any part of them doesn't sit right with you, please refrain from using the site or purchasing our services.

From time to time we may revise these terms. Whenever a significant change is made, we'll highlight it at the top of this page alongside a refreshed update date.

2. The services we provide

LaunchPad Books delivers a full range of self-publishing services — editing, cover design, interior layout, ISBN registration, distribution setup, and book marketing — for authors releasing to readers across the globe. The exact scope of your project is spelled out in the quote and service agreement you approve before any work starts.

Any timelines shown on the website are illustrative averages. The schedule that actually applies to your book is confirmed in writing once we have your manuscript in hand.

3. Intellectual property

Copyright in your manuscript stays with you, in full, at every stage. Once your final invoice has been settled, the rights to the cover artwork and interior layout we create also pass to you.

We may feature completed titles — their covers, your author name, and your book title — across our website, online bookstore, social channels, and promotional materials. Should you prefer to keep your project private, simply let us know in writing before the work wraps up, and we'll take it down from our public channels.

4. Payments

Invoices are issued in USD (or another major currency by arrangement) and can be paid by international card, bank transfer, or other secure methods we support. We typically split billing into a deposit when the agreement is signed and the remainder on delivery, or across two milestone payments on larger engagements.

Overdue balances may put work on hold and accrue interest of 2% per month once a payment is more than 14 days late.

5. Refunds

Our refund policy at /refunds sets out the full details. In short: anything not yet started can be refunded in full; work already underway is refundable for the portion still outstanding; finished deliverables aren't refundable but are backed by the guarantee described at /guarantee.

6. Confidentiality

We treat your manuscript as strictly confidential. Everyone who touches it — our staff, freelancers, and contractors alike — is covered by an NDA. We work with your manuscript solely to deliver the services you've engaged us to provide.

7. Limitation of liability

For any claim connected to our services, our liability is capped at the fees you paid for those services. We accept no responsibility for indirect or consequential losses, including missed royalties or projected earnings.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by English law. Where a dispute cannot be settled through good-faith discussion, it will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
